Hello, my name is Brian Tompkins and I'm the Helpful Handyman. I am a school teacher and have taught Technology Education for over twenty years. I work as a handyman after school, weekends and during the summer. My ideal jobs take from 30 minutes to 3 hours. I do take on jobs that take longer than 3 hours but it has to be the right job. The Helpful Handyman is a family owned business where I do the work and if I need an extra set of hands my teenage son will work with me. My slogan is "NO JOB IS TOO SMALL" and I mean it. I have changed light bulbs, furnace filters and even a water filter once. I encourage you to call and set up an appointment for a free estimate for any job you need a help with.

Working hours

In my business honestly and reliability are two of the most important factors, next to quality of work of course. I only accept work that I can promptly and professionally do. Customer satisfaction is my top priority.

Estimates

I do estimates on all jobs. I have found it much better for myself and the customer if a price for the work is established before I show up to begin any work. I am happy to come out and do a free estimate on any job.
I only work from an estimate and not by an hourly rate.

During the school year I work 3/4 days a week after school. Most work will begin around four o'clock and I will work until the job is done. In some cases I do schedule work that will take two or more evenings. Summers, I do work a full time schedule.

Payment

All payments are due at the completion of the job. I accept cash, check, credit card and Venmo.
